"Does this look like a cult to you?"

It's freaky Friday! Today's post is a little different. And our topic today happens to be about when we pray to the Lord that we should Bless God and why we should bless God. But before I begin please let me first share a little background. Yesterday on Moonbattery.com I saw the photograph that's shown above. Here's the story:

Manchester Guardian: Support ObamaCare or Earth Is Doomed!
And you thought the American media were over-the-top for declaring that opposition to ObamaCare/Radical Socialism/Trillion Dollar deficits was based on racism. The Manchester Guardian goes one step further: "If Obama can't defeat the Republican headbangers, our planet is doomed."
Anyone who cares about the survival of our planet should start praying that Barack Obama gets his way on reforming US healthcare. That probably sounds hyperbolic, if not mildly deranged...Mildly?
The Guardian's theory is, if Obama can't get Phase 1 of Nationalized Health Care passed, he can't get Cap-and-Trade passed. If he can't get Cap-and-Trade passed, then Earth is doomed. DOOMED!
Obama supporters loudly declare that we are doomed unless we abandon our freedom-loving ways and follow their gospel of socialism and environmental extremism, and they have anointed Obama as the Savior who will bring this about. But for some odd reason, they get a mite touchy when you call them a cult."

So ask yourself are these people a cult? And is this a good thing for our nation?

But anyone with half a brain knows that nothing good comes from this sort of mindless adoration, praise and chants for the President. So why do I bring this up? Well, you will see in a minute. But let's first start with reading today's scripture.
David's Praise to God
Therefore David
Blessed the Lord before all the assembly;
and David said:
"Blessed are You, Lord God of Israel,
our Father, forever and ever.
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness,
The power and the glory,
The victory and the majesty;
For all that is in heavenly,
and in earth is Yours;
and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O Lord,
And You are exalted as head over all.
Both riches and honor come from You,
And You reign over all.
In Your hand is power and might;
In Your hand it is to make great
And to give strength to all.
"Now therefore, our God, We thank You
And praise Your glorious name.
But who am I, and who are my people,
That we should be able to offer so willingly as this?
For all things come from You,
And of Your own we have given You.
For we are aliens and pilgrims before You,
As were all our fathers;
Our days on earth are as a shadow,
And without hope.
O Lord our God, all this abundance that we have prepared to build You a house for Your holy name is from Your hand, and is all Your own. I know also, my God, that You test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offeredall these things; and now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here to offer willingly to You. O Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the intent of the thoughts of the heart of Your people, and fix their heart toward You.
And give my son Solomon a loyal heart to keep Your commandments and Your testimonies and Your statutes, to do all these things, and to build the temple for which I have made provision."
Then David said to all the assembly,
"Now bless the Lord our God."
So all the assembly blessed the LORD God of their fathers,
and bowed their heads and prostrated themselves before the Lord and the king."
1 Chronicles 29: 10-20
Look closely, did you catch that? David asked for a commitment from the assembly of people to BOW down and BLESS the Lord. So they bowed their heads and prostrated themselves before the Lord and the king. David wasn't asking the people to do something that he wasn't willing to do himself. King David started his public prayer by saying:
d
"Blessed are You, Lord God of Israel, our Father, forever and ever."
d
And he ended his prayer by asking the assembly to:
And he ended his prayer by asking the assembly to:
"Bless the Lord our God."
I like that! Don't you? Whenever I pray I'm always thanking and praising God for blessing me and my family. But I never say "Bless you Lord." I guess I always consider that the Lord was already Blessed. Why did he need my blessings? Which is why starting today I'm going to try and make it a habit by beginning and ending my prayers by BLESSING the Lord our God. And I hope you do the same. It's time that we step things up a notch!

So So back to Freaky Friday. Right after reading these bible verses, I decided to look up the meaning of the word bless because I wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing the true meaning of the word. You see, I'm only a student of the Holy Spirit Academy and not some graduate from a fancy Ivy League Divinity School. Here's the meaning of the word bless from Strong's Hebrew-Aramic Dictionary:
d
Bless #1288 - Barak, to KNEEL down; to bless, pronounce blessings, give praise, give thanks, extol; to be blessed, be praised, to bless oneself, be blessed, or speak of excellence of someone (praise); blessed, bless, blesseth, salute, thanked, and to speak words seeking divine favor, CURSED, congratulate.

I'll let you the reader draw your own conclusions here about what all this means. And for those mindless zombies walking around chanting: Obama, Obama and making Big O's with their hands. What these people probably don't realize that they are bringing curses down on themselves and this nation. Sorry but that's the cold hard truth of the matter because the bible is very clear about idol worship.

The bottom here is that Presidents come and Presidents go, Mr. Reporter for the Manchester newspaper. Praying to Barrack Obama to be the savior of the world -leaves me cold. Why? Because our days here on earth are as a shadow without hope and darkness is descending upon us.
s
I'll stop for now and end this words from Matthew Henry: In this address David adores God, and ascribes glory to him as the God of Israel, BLESSED for ever and ever. Our Lord’s prayer ends with a doxology much like this which David here begins with— for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory. This is properly praising God—with holy awe and reverence, and agreeable affection, acknowledging...

Interesting Topic! I will have to go over to the moonbattery.com site and see for myself. I am no fan or supporter of Obama that is for sure.
Tanks and Keep the Faith!
