The God You Can Know

Autumn by Chakotey
"Don't say we have found WISDOM;
only God will show Job to be wrong, not people."
Job 32:13

The God You Can Know
Dan DeHaan

READ Job 28:1-28

SITUATION Job continued his long reply to Bildad and his other friends. In his speech, Job claimed that God's wisdom supersedes all human wisdom.

OBSERVATION Nature cannot tell everything about God's wisdom. For future insight we must look at God's Word.

INSPIRATION God knows me! He knows every tear I cry. "Thou hast taken account of my wanderings; put my tears in Thy bottle" (Psalm 56:8 NASB). God knows every trail we go through, and His wisdom allows each to happen . .. .

God is perfect in His wisdom. As the sun cannot be without light, neither can God be without wisdom. He was wisdom originally. Men acquire wisdom through experience; God has it by essence. He does not have to study or gain more experience God has wisdom perfectly. He was absolutely no ignorance. He has wisdom universally. Men are wise in various things. God is wise in all things. God has wisdom perpetually. Man's wisdom fades near death. God's wisdom is perpetual. His wisdom is incomprehensible. The wisdom of one man may be comprehended by another, "Canst thou by searching find out God?" (Job 11:7 KJV). His wisdom is infallible. Even the wisest men fall short of their goals. God never fails. (From The God You Can Know by Dan DeHann)

APPLICATION To know more of God's wisdom, we must study the Bible. Develop a plan for daily study. Memorize one verse by rewriting it each day for a week. Reflect on your selected verse throughout the day.

EXPLORATION God's Wisdom -- Daniel 2:19-23; Romans 6:27; 1 Corinthians 1:21-24; Colossians 2:2-3.

I love this passage from Job. The world would have us believe that wisdom can be found without God, but according to this passage it cannot be found in the natural world, only the Creator Himself has it. How great it is that He makes it accessible to us through Him, and only through Him!
