The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him;
and he will shew them his covenant.

Giving Honor to Whom Honor Is Due
Minister Tracey L. Green

God places great value and honor upon those who fear Him. This is not the terrifying, tormenting fear to approach Him. No, it is a reverential awareness and a cherishing consideration of Who He is. Those who walk in a healthy fear of the Lord love Him enough to honor and deem Him precious. They count Him worthy as a true treasure. "Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things. And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen." (Psalms 72:18-19)

We have built countless museums throughout the world that houses fine pieces of art that we have esteemed worthy of respectful recognition. Yet, we struggle to esteem the Creator who made the creature that created these mere perishable creations. Imagine that!

How do we recapture the wonder and dread of the One who is worthy to be counted as precious?

Where do we begin to seek Him who is Heaven’s greatest treasure? "For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: Thou art God alone. Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name." (Psalms 86:10-11)

It begins in our hearts as we begin to recognize and hallow the Lord in our lives. As we give Him the place and honor that is due Him, it enlarges our capacity to receive more of Him. When we set our hearts and affections toward Him, it expands us. Our appetites begin to change, our passions are redirected and realigned, and our inner man is strengthened and edified. It is in this posture that our desire for Him increases and matures to a new level. Our love intensifies and is quickened for His presence.

The restoration of the fear of the Lord can rekindle even the most distance of relationships. Once the recognition of who He is becomes triggered, then begin the process of rebuilding and fortifying the relationship. It is only when value and honor is rightfully restored to the Father can the true exchange of communion and relationship begins.
